Ross Park Sunny Side Improvements

News1 Comment »

The Sunny Side of Ross Park has received some serious improvements. Work has been done which resulted in a level base at the bottom of the Main Wall as well as a level base on the Middle Wall. No changes have been made to the Ivy League Wall. Furthermore, the paths leading to the Main Wall and the Middle Wall have been greatly improved. Check it out:

Pocatello Pump September 13-14

NewsNo Comments »

Peter Joyce of Idaho State University’s Adventure Center sent in the following news:

The Pocatello Pump, in it’s 27th year is the longest running climbing competition in the country and until someone tells me otherwise, the world! Join the fun Saturday and/or Sunday September 13 & 14. Everyone’s a winner at the Pump. Everyone leaves with a great prize and swag bag. There is a category for every level of rock climbing ability. This ain’t no gym comp, we climb on real rock. Top rope and lead climbing categories. All the proceeds go right back into the climbing community. By supporting the Pocatello Pump you support the Access Fund, the Terry Kranning Climbing Scholarship at ISU, anchor replacements at Massacre Rocks and City of Rocks, and route development at Castle Rocks. Come out to Pocatello’s basalt playground and find out why the Pocatello Pump continues on, and on, and on…..

Thanks Peter for the news!

NewsNo Comments »

Peter Joyce emailed in to let us know that the Ross Park Adopt-a-Crag is coming up. Here is the news in his words:

Join the folks at the ISU Outdoor Adventure Center in supporting the Access Fund’s “Adopt-a-Crag”. Come show you give a damn and help clean-up and assist with trail maintenance at climbing areas of Ross Park, Saturday September 6 at 10 a.m. starting on the Sunny Side. Bring work gloves and a smile. Visit The Access Funs Adopt-a-Crag page for more beta or call the Adventure Center at (208) 282-3912.

Cheers,

Peter

Be sure to come out and lend a hand if you have the time. It is a fun way to give back to the climbing community and to show the City of Pocatello that we care for our climbing resources.
